Coming NOVEMBER 15th at Stonewalls: Rita Carrey! Rita Carrey, older sister to comedian Jim Carrey, is a Canadian television and radio personality. Born in Canada, she grew up in Toronto and Burlington, Ontario. She is an accomplished singer/songwriter and public speaker. Rita has been performing with her own classic rock band for many years now and has branched off into a more sultry blues sound. She has performed with the likes of Bruce Springsteen and has opened for Honeymoon Suite, Goddo and April Wine. She loves playing intimate venues because it allows her to interact with the audience more closely and show her quick wit and talent. She comes from a musical back ground. Her father had his own big band and her Mother was the singer. Rita has just finished a book called Growing Up Carrey which she hopes will hit the store shelves next year.
