Coming from a guy who pretty much stands on his own when it comes to his views of politics – not sure I know a single person who agrees with me in lockstep politically, based on past discussions and what I see on here from time to time – this Syrian situation is one that bears watching. History tells me that we should not be involved at all, at least in visible terms, regardless of the YouTube videos and the cries for help being sent from the region. Every time we get involved in the Middle East, we make things worse, and historically it’s come back to bite us in places hidden from sunlight on several occasions. To be fully honest, I think we should pull out of there altogether and stop meddling with the entire region. Shut down the bases, close off our alliances with nations that are equally reliant on American aid and curse us behind our backs, draw our resources that we receive from there elsewhere, and stop fighting a philosophical war that we can otherwise neither change nor win...
