Coming through China on the black market from Russian illegal logging. Lots of formaldehyde in the engineered wood products too. Saw a special report on this today. The forests in Russias far east have long been known for large scale illegal cutting operations. The logging reduces the supply of acorns and pine nuts available to red deer and wild boars, which make up the tigers food supply. The Environmental Investigation Agency, a nonprofit conservation group, has been investigating the illegal logging trade in far eastern Russia since 2007 and says it is a business for organized crime.
