Commanders Veterans Day Holiday Safety Message Veterans Day has long been held as a day to honor Americas veterans for their patriotism, love of country and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good. Thank you for your service and dedication to our Army, our Brothers and Sisters in uniform and the freedoms and prosperity of each and every American. This Veterans Day will be celebrated with an extended holiday weekend, and I ask that you make safety a priority in all your plans. Stand by your responsibilities as a safety leader among your Soldiers and peers. You set an example in everything you do, whether its wearing a seat belt, designated driver duties or calling a cab when you or your buddies have too much to drink. Remember that when you take unnecessary risks or tolerate risky behavior from your Soldiers or friends, it always affects someone else. As we celebrate, our goal is not to lose a single Soldier, civilian employee, or family member due to an accident. This Veterans Day enjoy the extended weekend and return safe and rested. TRACEY E.
