David H. Berger, Marine Air Ground Task Force Training Command, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Commanding General, presents the Navy Cross to Gunnery Sgt. Richard A. Jibson, Battle Staff Training Program team member, Marine Corps Tactics and Operations Group, during an award ceremony held at Lance Corporal Torrey L. Gray Field April 22, 2014. Jibson was advising a 53-man coalition force of Georgian, Afghan, and United States Personnel during the clearing of an Afghan village, May 28, 2012, when he unhesitatingly chose to protect, rescue and inspire his Marines throughout a 5-hour long fire fight.
