Commendable and I fully support his decision. And while people can - TopicsExpress

Commendable and I fully support his decision. And while people can debate on the whole issue the reality is this: the office of a pastor is not a power trip. Its a foot washing humble privilege to serve and lead people to the Lord and make disciples... not religious converts who just do as their told. Loyalty first must go to God and not a person in position. All pastors should be accountable to the eldership and congregation who then holds that pastor accountable to the word of God. A pastor should never see his or her position as a CEO status and abuse the authority given by God. I (personally and just my opinion) believe thats how it is in most evangelical churches in America. I also believe that God is brushing off the chalkboard of misleading and misguided ceos and raising up a generation of janitors.... who dont just simply tell people to clean up their mess but are willing to jump in and help. Pastor mark has done the right thing and I believe he can be restored as well as us all. Whether its to teach or serve in a different capacity. I pray blessings over him and his family during this season of transition.
