The lotus has been a symbol of purity since before the time of the Buddha, and it blooms profusely in Buddhist art and literature. Its roots are in muddy water, but the lotus flower rises above the mud to bloom, clean and fragrant. The mud nourishing the roots represents our messy human lives. It is through our human experiences and our suffering that we seek to break free and bloom. But while the flower rises above the mud, the roots and stem remain in the mud, where we live our lives. A Zen verse says, May we exist in muddy water with purity, like a lotus. The White lotus symbolized bodhi (Sanskrit for enlightenment). It symbolizes a pure body, mind and spirit, along with spiritual perfection and a pacification of one’s nature. It is the connection to spirituality that is formed when we allow our true selves to flow. You have been guided to the white lotus to open yourself up more to possibilities and your feelings. A journey to your essence and soul will lead you down the correct path. Be open to everything and dont hold the negatives. The blue lotus symbolizes the control of the spirit over one’s material senses. It also symbolizes knowledge, wisdom and intelligence. The blue lotus is always depicted only partially opened—perhaps to symbolize that knowledge should never be finished blooming. In a similar vein, its center is never seen. The blue lotus is the lotus associated with Manjusri, and is also one of the attributes of Prajnaparamita, the embodiment of the perfection of wisdom. You were led to the blue lotus to show you that knowledge is power, so dont dismiss what you dont know and never stop trying to find answers. What you seek goes deeper than what you expect. The red lotus symbolizes the original state of the heart. It is a symbol of love, compassion, activeness, passion and other emotions associated with the heart. The red lotus is typically depicted with its petals opened, which may be to symbolize the beauty and openness of a giving heart. If you were led to the red lotus it is to show you that feeling is the most important way of living. Your heart must be open and willing to give unconditional love no matter the person, situation or circumstance. The pink lotus is the supreme lotus, it is often associated with the highest deity, the Buddha himself. Though often confused with the white lotus, it is the pink lotus that symbolizes Buddha where the white lotus is used for lesser holy figures. If you were led to the pink lotus it is because you must fully embrace who you are and not straddle the threshold of what you call reality and spirituality. One door in and one door out does not bring enlightenment. To reach all that you desire, you must be all that you desire. Embody your authentic soul self. The purple lotus is known as the mystic lotus, The purple lotus flower is always different from others as it is considered as one of the beautiful and lovely flower. Yes we can also say that they are rare because they are not found everywhere. The purple lotus in found scared flower because of its condition of growth, it is not grown in every condition. The lotus represents all the that achievement and willing that a person wants to. As we all know that purple lotus flower germinates from the bottom of mud and is surrounded by muck. It looks more beautiful when in is blooming that raises its beauty above all the filth. It is the flower of Homage. If you are led to the purple lotus is is to show you that the unknown does not have to be feared. What is rare is beautiful and so are you for there is no one else like you. So stand true to yourself no matter the life around you. Be who you feel deep down, see the beauty of all that you are. A spiritual essence is calling to you. The golden lotus that is mentioned in Buddhist sutras has two meanings, one is the symbol for the achievement of enlightenment and the other points towards a real flower which is beyond our normal perception. If you chose the Golden lotus than you are being guided to let go of what no longer serves you, and you may have done this already. Understand that what we set free with love and from our real self; will always return to is changed and evolved. You cant move forward on a spiritual path if you dont allow yourself to be free.
