The waiter cut the orange cake with pistachio chunks and gave a piece each to both the kids. Let’s call the kids Alpha and Beta. Alpha had most of the orange part. Beta wanted the pistachio rich part but when he grabbed his piece, he realized that he missed a piece which had a rich mass of pistachio chunks. The waiter was gone. Beta keeps fighting with Alpha for that piece till date. There is this kid called Gamma. Gamma is a champ; he is an athlete, is stout and believes in topping all possible lists. He is mostly indifferent to both Alpha and Beta but silently considers Alpha as a competition. So sometimes, he gets into Alpha’s room and wastes his time. He also rumoured to be surreptitiously helping Beta so that he keeps Alpha in check. Delta is the name of the fourth kid. Like Beta, he is also a pistachio lover. He is plain spineless. Beta once gave him a slice from his piece of cake and since then Delta remained Beta’s loyal sidekick. But Beta acted like a controlling chief and used him like a punching sack till delta’s patience ran out. He asked Alpha to help. Alpha helped Delta in overcoming Beta. For some time, it was all cool, but Delta has started licking Beta’s boots again. He even keeps dumping litter at Alpha’s doorsteps. And then there is Epsilon, Alpha’s best buddy. He isn’t exactly a brilliant student. Gamma once tried corroding their friendship, but his aggression couldn’t stand in front of Epsilon’s perseverance. Alpha keeps helping Epsilon with his homework and Gamma hates that. This in a nutshell is the situation of Alpha amidst friends and foes like Beta, Gamma, Delta and Epsilon.
