Commentary from a radio talk show host in NH on the eve of the 2014 mid-term election. So I am prepared for tomorrows results from the Live Free or Die State, are you? I was raised to be respectful by my parents and grandparents, so I remain so...but it is hard not to ask some questions tonight of my Liberal friends. My sister- whom I love- is politically speaking, left of left. We grew up in a household where we debated politics constantly, respectfully and lovingly. I was kind of the Michael J. Fox- fiscal conservative and she was the Jane Fonda. We have had more than 6 years of this administration, of this President. I, as a conservative father made my daughters watch the historic election of President Obama, and a big part of me, actually wanted to see him succeed. I am an American. I am a proud NH resident. Sadly, what I have seen is 6-plus years of a failed and reluctant leader. Factually, his policies are not working and anyone who says they are is kidding himself or herself. If they were the Democrats in NH would have been running paid ads on Obamacare, amnesty for immigrants and global warming. Instead they have tried to wage a war against womens rights and corporations. They have actually since 2012 managed to make US Companies the bad guys and not the creators of jobs and wealth. They have snowed too many Americans into thinking the Government is the answer to all problems and we can afford this charade. This President has been given historic chances and he has balked at best. I am not one of those people who questions this Presidents intelligence or abilities. I just now question his leadership and at political moments in history, his convictions or even motivations. I watch the news tonight on the eve of this election and I see 322 people slaughtered by ISIS- women and children. I see Mr. Putin chuckling at the US. I feel the President had to be backed into stopping ISIS. I am tired of calling terrorism here workplace violence because we are afraid of offending someone. I happen to think honesty is a good thing and didnt this President promise to tell the American people the truth? Maybe things have to get worse before more than 50% of Americans wake up, but it is hard to picture things getting any worse than they are now in the world and here at times. I see an economy where older people are broke and younger people are lost and us in the middle are not feeling confident. I see a failure of liberal policies- because I respectfully ask of some members of my own family who prefer Liberal policies how is this working for us really? Are you getting ahead or are we lost as a nation? This nation has been lost before, but a leader emerged. Having a daily radio show is indeed a blessing and I tend to hold back on my own views. Unlike Liberal thinkers, I am honest and will say if the GOP loses in NH and nationally in this environment when failure is all around us, then the conservatives need to have an honest discussion about throwing out a playbook. If the Liberals and the President indirectly lose big tomorrow night here and nationally, will the say the same or will they just blame someone or something else? What worries me most is our American confidence is shaken, and I see a President who reminds me of a college Professor who shuns assertive leadership on a whole host of issues at a time when Americans and free people of the world, in a world full of bullies, rapists and murderers in places like Iraq and Syria, are starving for a leader. You can sugar coat it any way your want. but bullies only respond to fear and respect or they simply just keep pushing that line until the line is gone. Please vote, and thanks for reading this. Just ask yourself how has the last 6-plus years worked for you? JH-
