Comments on Caddo Schools Naming 7 Finalists The list of 14 applicants was apparently narrowed to 12 when two people did not complete the process. It was further narrowed by the Board and/or the consulting firm to a list of 7 possible finalists. The seven are: Romain Dallemand (Macon, GA) John Dilworth (Montgomery, AL) John P. Green (Suwanee, GA) Jerry O. Payne (Pine Bluff, Ark.) Agnella K. Perera (Smithfield, VA) Mary Nash Robinson (Greenwood, LA) Theodore Thompson (Alexandria, VA) So what does the list mean? It very likely means Dr. Mary Nash Robinson of Greenwood (Caddo Parish) is the next Caddo Superintendent. Of interest is the inclusion of John Dilworth. While listed as Montgomery, AL he is a Caddo native and spent the better part of his career here before leaving to move to Montgomery to become the Superintendent there and later of the East Baton Rouge School System. Mr. Dilworth resigned his position in EBR over a year ago amid issues with the EBR Board. Jerry Payne is listed as Pine Bluff but he has spent his 30 plus year career moving around quite a bit, including California. His last job was in Pine Bluff where he was let go by the Pine Bluff Board for cause and he remains today in a legal suit against that School Board. That issue came up publicly when he was one of the three finalists last week in the Webster Parish open job. He received no votes in the Webster final round of voting which was won by Webster local Morris Busby. The other 4 names are all national unknowns to Caddo and likely Louisiana who will have to be vetted by the Board. Complete resumes are on-line on the Caddo Schools website. Dr. Robinson is currently employed in the Caddo System as Director of Human Resources and is one of the top four management positions. She is a life time Caddo employee who has served as a teacher, principal and central office staff. The Board will meet July 16 to select which finalists they will choose to interview in person the week of July 22-26.
