Comments required: Hi guys, Im looking foir a bit of guidance on this one from everyone. The following situation is purely hypothetical (for a reason). Lets say I wanted to build a restaurant or other business premises and there had been some very public discussion about my plans, both for and against. My planning application was about to go before the council, so I invited all the councillors have a free meal at my existing restaurant. Should those councillors that accepted my free gift, be allowed to take part in the discussions about my new restaurant or are they now deemed to be not neutral by virtue of accepting free gifts from me. Could this acceptance be seen as a bribe. Personally I think any such councillors should not be allowed to take part as they can no longer be deemed to be neutral. What are your thoughts?
