Commercial real estate professionals gathered at Glenview Mansion at Rockville Civic Center Park on Wednesday to network and learn more about development projects in Rockville and resources the City and Rockville Economic Development, Inc. (REDI) can provide. REDI Executive Director Laurie Boyer presented information on how REDI helps to market the city as a great business location, and presented tips on how REDI staff can not only assist the commercial brokers to sell their buildings and locations, but also what they can do to assist their clients and prospects. Susan Swift, the City’s director of Community Planning and Development Services, offered information on how to access resources available through the City for development, commercial space, permitting, and more. Sally Sternbach, deputy director of the Montgomery County Department of Economic Development, discussed the Montgomery County MOVE (Make Office Vacancies Extinct) Program, which is designed to attract life sciences, IT, cybersecurity and green technology businesses to Montgomery County. “There is a high demand for commercial space in Rockville as business in this area continues to thrive,” said Laurie Boyer, director of Rockville Economic Development Inc. “This event is an opportunity for us to build REDI’s relationship with the commercial brokers, and to help make some local business-to-business connections within the commercial real estate world.” Rockville Mayor Bridget Donnell Newton said: “This event is a great idea. It brings businesses together where they can exchange innovative ideas and solutions and make successful connections.” To learn more about REDI, or coordinate a visit with REDI officials, call 301-315-8096 or visit RockvilleREDI.org.
