Common Core Standards were just bullied into my sons 8th grade curriculum. They arent being transitioned in and the kids arent being taught how to switch gears and learn in a different manner but it is being shoved down their throats without any empathy or apology. It is a joke. Common core teaches a lemming curriculum, only one answer--the popular plebeian answer is correct. There is no room for ingenuity and yet ingenious was a common core vocab word this week. Is anyone in a school system that has transitioned this trojan horse into the schools without killing the love of learning? I need to do some research on how to do this right as my sons school is like a bull in a china shop. They defend this nonsense and I keep reflecting on the morals in the emperors new clothes. Americas educational system is 25th in the world and none of the 24 above us are teaching common core. Common core appears to want our kids to be the worker bees and not the innovators. Seems like that is taking another 25 steps backwards. Can anyone point me to a model that works?
