Communities typically to reject struggles and prejudices that they have no experience in, the LGBTQ community is no exception. As a community, the LGBTQ community tries to fight against discrimination, correct? However I notice a shocking amount of the LGBTQ community rejecting the notion of white privilege in North America. Is it because weve been discriminated for other reasons that we reject it? Or we havent personally felt it? The fact remains, we have it, even in our everyday lives. White privilege is being able to go in a store and not be watched consistently from the security for not being white, its to not have people ask where you or your family is from, even the small things like being able to go to the pharmacy and finding a foundation color that can match your skin tone is white privilege.
