Community Center Director Title: Community Center Director Career Category Location: Kinston, NC Type: Exempt Position #: 170777 « Back to Job Listings Description Supervises and monitors the day-to-day operation of a Community Center including operation hours,facility maintenance and security, program development and promotion, and recreational activities; ensures center operates in compliance with The Salvation Army mission, policies and procedures. Researches, plans, develop, schedules, promotes, implements, and monitors recreational programs and activities for all age-groups based on the needs and interest of the local community. Schedules, facilitates and/or supervises activities occurring at the center such as sporting events, craft classes, games, field trips, etc.; monitors activities hosted or conducted by outside groups. Prepares and maintains up-to-date records and reports regarding the Community Center programs and statistics. Builds and maintains effective and positive relationships with the public and other community agencies and church groups in order to promote awareness of the Community Center activities. Required Experience Knowledge of the principles and practices of recreation program development. Knowledge of the principles and practices of facility management. Ability to develop creative and innovative recreational programs. Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of recreational programs and to develop enhancements that enables the programs to meet a specific needs of the community. Ability to lead, motivate, and influence the staff and patrons of the Community Center. Ability to develop and implement promotional and fund-raising activities to enhance the outreach and financial efforts of the Community Center.
