Community Launch of the text2teach Program The mission of text2teach is to make a significant contribution to the quality of teaching and learning in underserved schools and communities in the Philippines. Its objectives are to 1) use advanced mobile communications technology for education; 2)encourage cooperation among the public, private and civil society sectors at the local and global levels; and 3) complement the indigenous curriculum with high quality educational content delivered through a mobile network, and with integrated teacher training. On behalf of the People of Samar, I would like to thank Nokia, Pearson, the International Youth Foundation (IYF) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for choosing Samar as part of this program. Indeed it would be a big help in our efforts to boost the education system of our province.
