Community Manager Assemble Shared Office - Chicago, IL Assemble Shared office is a new shared workspace in Chicago. We successfully opened our first location in the Gold Coast at the end of September and are already at full capacity. A second location is opening is the West Loop in spring 2015. If that isn’t exciting enough we will also be opening in cities such as Minneapolis, Austin, Santa Monica, Denver, Dallas, Houston and Nashville later in the year. Each of these spaces are sure to have their own individual flare, but they all will provide a thriving, creative atmosphere for small businesses and entrepreneurs in their own private offices. Each sprawling 13,000 square foot space is dominated by natural light, great views and dramatic high ceilings that make the workplace enjoyable and exciting to be in. Each Assemble Office location will be built out with over 50 glass-enclosed office spaces for companies with 10 or fewer employees. Amenities are plentiful, including free coffee, Internet, access to conference rooms, printing, copying and scanning. Instead of being locked into long-term commitments, members at Assemble sign short term leases, which provide flexibility in the event blossoming companies outgrow their workspace quickly. The community manager role at Assemble Shared Office splits responsibility between taking care of people (community manager) and taking care of business (office manager) requiring a focus on hospitality, customer service and organization. Responsibilities include: • Lead tours for prospective Assemble Shared Office members • Greet all members, guests and vendors in a friendly and welcoming manner • Process monthly membership fees • Serve as a helpful community resource for members and visitors • Develop programs that benefit members and community building events • Support/coordinate member meetings with catering, coffee service, custom staging etc. • Serve as events coordinator with event planning and execution • Effectively manage conference room availability • Develop business-to-business relationships with local vendors that benefit members • Assist with regular social media updates regarding Assemble Shared Office • Ensure all inbound and outbound packages are sent and/or sorted • Promptly return all calls and emails regarding new memberships • Ensure common areas are staged and organized to begin the day and maintained throughout the day The ideal community manager is positive, energetic and approachable and enjoys being the go to person for members. You must be reliable, responsible and have a friendly but professional manner. Flexibility, prioritization and multi-tasking are essential. A successful candidate should have proven experiences in service roles and/or jobs where hospitality was a core component. Some things about you: You rise to the occasion. It is important to focus on your tasks at hand but you pitch in where help is needed. We are a new, fast growing company and we need you to be always willing to roll up your sleeves! You get things done. You take great pleasure from checking off boxes. This role is a mixed bag on any given day so being able to prioritize is very important. You work well under deadlines and understand the importance of keeping on schedule. You self-start but can rally a team to a shared completion. You’re a problem solver and a strategic thinker. You identify and track all the moving pieces. You find new ways to increase efficiency. You take the initiative to build processes in the interest of a better experience for members. You have the analytical foresight that anticipates roadblocks yet you have the reflex to pivot when the initial plan must be abandoned. You’re crazy organized. We will provide you the tools but you need to be able to do the legwork. Not only do you strive to put things in their place, but you can create order and teach other how to maintain it. You can juggle schedules, inquiries, call logs and personalities with grace. You hold a charge. We need a person who has passion and energy. You’re a communication guru. We don’t expect you to know everything at the start so it is important to ask questions. Since we are growing rapidly, we are always open to new ways of doing things – so share your ideas. Equally important is to communicate regularly with members and guest to ensure their needs are met.
