The aim of the organization is to contribute to the development of Afghanistan as an integral part of the international community. It envisages accomplishing its aims by building local capacities, generating evidence in various disciplines, promoting evidence-based best practices, and implementing development projects aimed at community development at the grass root level. ORCD is a multi-donor funded NGO, implementing Health, agriculture and Community Development projects in several provinces of the country. One of the donors is the UN-WOMEN with whom ORCD has Advocacy Program on Prevention and End of Violence against Women in Ningarhar, Kunar and Laghman provinces. This post is responsible for overall community mobilizing of the project in all three provinces currently being implemented by ORCD. Job Description Establishing contact with rural communities: to identify and mobilize the community, conduct election of community member and train the community in convening, planning and running household and small group meeting in order to analyse community problems and for generating demand for a large community gathering. To supervise and monitor the sub-project work progress and manage community information for a smooth community project running. The Responsibilities of a Community Mobilizer: Conduct meeting with trinees to discuss and identify the problems and needs and a possible solutions by community residence and on time report of problems to Field focal point. To undertake basic research/survey on the conditions in Ditricts in which ORCD works (landholding size, number of returnees etc.) Survey and support to identify new projects for their Community development plan. To perform community mobilization and community awareness according t operation manual and support community member through meetings to identify their priorities. To work with the trainess to ensure that all ORCD’s projects are responding to identified needs and have the full participation of the community. Attending team meetings for planning future work and evaluating past work To monitor from work progress of targeted districts and well reporting to project officer. To provide accurate information on project activities for assessment, monitoring, and evaluation in simple written report to project officer and project director. To insure and manage all training document in a proper files for a better paper management. To make sure that trainess file is completed according to the training manual. Job Requirements At least one (1) years of relevant community development and community mobilization training experience. Previous knowledge in managing and organizing workshops and community mobilization sessions. Previous experience with the Government of Afghanistan is preferable. High School Graduate. Demonstrated coordination/planning skills. Demonstrated community level mediation and support skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills in Dari and Pashto. Excellent interpersonal skills. Conflict management ability, tactfulness, a good sense of humor.
