Community Note::Philip Barbour students may pick up their schedules and assigned locker numbers and combinations on August 8 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Locker fees for 2014-2015 are $5 per student, which is due prior to picking up the assigned locker number and combination. Following this, students who are part of the New Tech program are asked to attend the orientation from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 pm. Parents are also strongly encouraged to attend. At 6:00 p.m. a light dinner will be provided to all students and their parents. After dinner, the annual “Freshman Frolic” will take place. Everyone will proceed to the auditorium where an overview of school activities, classes, and expectations will be presented. From 7:30p.m.-9:00 p.m., students and parents will split into their respective groups. The students will participate in team building activities to meet their fellow classmates and school student leaders. The parents will learn about online resources, the positive behavior support system, school policies, and incentives for the upcoming year. At 9:00 p.m., the evening will wrap up when all sophomore, junior, and senior students are invited to join the freshman class for a back-to-school dance that will take place in the student parking lot (weather permitting).
