Community Question…please keep it supportive, non-punitive, peaceful and respectful towards children, parents & each other! I wanted to know if you could share any advice about taking with children when theyre going through their parents separation. My children are still so young. Our daughter is 4 and our son is 2. We are moving out of state with my extended family. My daughter just seems excited- to be around her aunt and grandpa, to have a big back yard, etc. Ive been taking about it in only positives- all the good things well have and do. How daddy will come and visit and we will Skype with him all the time. W/o saying things like, daddy and mommy wont be together anymore etc. She knows (in her 4 year old mind) that this is a permanent move, not just or usual summer trip. My son doesnt seem really aware of what is going on, though Ive told him all the same things Ive told his sister. So I was hoping maybe you could share some advice for my family or anyone elses that may be going through the same thing on your wonderful page. Ive really enjoyed your page and have put many of your suggestions and advice into action with great results, so I value any suggestions you may have on children dealing with divorce. Thanks for your time.
