Community Security Service The service is primarily a response service operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week throughout the year, including all public holidays, with four mobile Security Patrol Officers on duty at all times. No matter where you live in the City you can access the service day or night by calling 1300 657 123. Clearly marked patrol vehicles are equipped with two-way radio communication and are fitted with global positioning equipment to track their movement. The City of Rockingham has been divided into three zones, each with a dedicated patrol vehicle, with a fourth vehicle acting as a roving support between the designated zones. The zones have been set up to ensure all areas within the City of Rockingham have comparable coverage. The Community Safety Service works closely with local Police, to exchange crime intelligence and information. This assists and supports the Police in their investigations which can lead to arrests and the successful prosecution of offenders. What do the Community Safety Patrol Officers do? The main role of the Community Safety Patrol Officer is to observe, report and monitor incidents of antisocial behaviour and other issues involving safety and security within the community. Licensed Security Officers will respond to a wide range of issues including: Antisocial behaviour Vandalism Suspicious behaviour and activities. As Officers are patrolling throughout the City 24 hours a day, they also report maintenance issues to appropriate asset owners. Issues reported include: Graffiti vandalism Damage to buildings Broken streetlights Damaged roads Security Officers will also provide extra patrols in hotspot areas, including foot patrols along beach footpaths during the summer months. Holiday Watch Service The Community Safety Service also offers a confidential Holiday Watch service, where vehicles provide random patrols of your property when you are away on holiday, or if you are working away. To book a Holiday Watch of your property, simply call 1300 657 123 and provide the following information to the operator: Date you will be leaving and returning Contact number (or person contactable) while youre away Key holder details (if applicable) Details of any vehicles expected to be at the property Any other relevant information It should be noted that Holiday Watch coverage can only be provided for a period of 12 weeks. How do I contact the Community Safety Service? You can access this service 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling 1300 657 123. Call centre staff will then record the details of the incident you wish to report while sending the information to the patrol officers directly to ensure a rapid response. If a call is of a serious criminal or violent nature you may be advised to call the Police directly on 131 444 or 000 in an emergency. To enable patrol officers to respond quickly to your call, please supply the following information: The location of the incident – street name, including number, and suburb and try to give a point of reference if you can - nearest intersection, near shops, park or reserve Details of the incident and who is involved, descriptions of any persons involved Vehicle registration details and description Operators can also provide you with a call log number if requested. When to call the Community Safety Service You can utilise the Community Safety Service to report incidents such as, but not limited to: Antisocial behaviour Suspicious activity Noisy parties Additional patrols in areas of hoon behaviour To arrange a Holiday Watch of your property while you are away The Community Security Service is not a secondary Police service and does not replace the work of the Western Australian Police. Officers roles are to observe and report incidents, as well as acting as a visual deterrent. When to call the Police Call 131 444 if you require Police assistance for non emergency incidents such as, but not limited to: A burglary A disturbance or breach of the peace Neighbour dispute or domestic incident Antisocial behaviour including noisy parties, hoon driving Damage to property for insurance purposes When reporting incidents to the Police Assistance Centre you can remain anonymous if you wish.
