Community Solutions Information and Support Service is looking for local volunteers to support its work. A volunteer information session will be held at 3 pm on Thursday 29th August 2013 at Community Solutions who are based in the offices of Whitehill and Bordon CAB, Forest Community Centre in Bordon. A range of interesting roles are on offer depending on the volunteer’s skills. From receptionist duties and admin to event and publicity support, this is a chance to get involved in developing and promoting this new Information and Support Service for residents in Whitehill and Bordon. Judith Harris, from Headley Down who already helps Community Solutions said, “It’s good to support something local. I’m retired now and wanted to put my work skills to good use. The volunteering I’m doing is very varied. I open up the office and welcome visitors, update Community Solutions event calendar on their website and also help with publicity. We are off to Tesco next week for a promotional event there!” Claire Coxwell, Community Solutions Co-ordinator, said, “We welcome volunteers of any age and from all walks of life. Volunteering is a great way to gain skills and boost confidence.” The Volunteering Information Session is a regular slot in Community Solutions’ programme of useful services. People can drop in and discuss volunteering opportunities locally. Organisations recruiting volunteers can ask for help too. The Volunteering information Session is supported by Havant and East Hampshire Volunteer Centre. Community Solutions is a new drop- n information and support service aimed at giving people in the local area the ability to speak to experts in a wide variety of subjects – in one place. Community Solutions is a partnership project funded by Community First HEH, Whitehill and Bordon CAB, Radian, EHDC “Approved by You” grants, East Hampshire Community Partnership and Whitehill Town Council.
