Compared to other parents, my mom and dad never said or to this day say, I love you to my siblings and I. We were all raise with tough love. As a child we grew up with getting whipped by belts, and having very harsh words thrown at us. All for the encounter of discipline and being prepared in the near future of what life may throw at us. My grandma did not know how to write nor speak English. My grandma raised 8 children in a 8x8 hogan let alone: Provided meat once a week, fed her children skillet potatoes everyday, ate most of their meals straight out of a pan. My mom along with my aunts grew with no love, no electricity or running water. If it wasnt for my grandma raising my mom the way she did, I wouldnt be the woman I am today. Through the hardship Im glad my mom and aunts strived and pushed toward their degree, all for the benefit of us. Hard work/life paid off, even when my mom would hitch hike to her high school graduation, and hitch hiking to college, she made it and pursued with a Masters degree. I love you mom! Pain has absolutely nothing on you. ❤️
