Compensatory and Repurchase Research Specialist: Details: The primary functions associated with the Compensatory and Repurchase Research Specialist involves providing supporting documentation for appealing Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac Compensatory Fees, MI curtailments, and Repurchase appeals on a frequent basis. The individual must capture and gather supporting evidence on uncontrollable delays that occurred throughout the entire mortgage default process when timelines have been exceeded. Thorough research is done in LPS Desktop, MSP and other company systems as necessary. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs necessary reviews throughout the mortgage default process. Responsible for providing documentation for negotiations with GSE’s regarding compensatory fee appeals and repurchase request. Promptly address finding for appeal Provide copies of various documents to support any justified delays that can be appealed. Review and provide attorney chronologies Loan level review of the foreclosure process. Identify areas/stage within the fcl process for clarification on delay, such as court delay, loss mitigation and/or bankruptcy hold. Communicating with outside counsel when needed to supporting documentation. Perform detailed policy research. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing Knowledge of judicial and non judicial process as well as regulations, investor and insurer guidelines Responsible for keeping abreast of relevant changes to investor/insurer guidelines, industry standards and client expectations Provide suggested changes needed to policy and procedures to limit exposure on compensatory and/or repurchase fees Ability to meet strict deadlines and take direction from various sources.
