Comrades of CFTA, In short, my best friend over in Scotland, Gordon, was recently diagnosed with ALS, a rare, progressive and fatal disease, that attacks the brain and spinal cord. I dont think anyone can really imagine what it must feel like to receive this news at 29, but Gordon is a brave, proactive person. A former gymnast and CrossFitter, he is not one to wallow in self-pity. He has dedicated the time he has to raise money and awareness of this disease to work towards finding a cure for future generations. I want to do what I can to help and what better community to engage than ours? Israel is a country of innovators, and ISRALS, the main charity involved in research to find a cure, has made huge strides -- but there is a long road ahead, and IsrALS relies entirely on private donations. CrossFit Tel Aviv in conjunction with IsrALS and Reebok Israel have decided to run a competition, which will be held next Saturday 12 July, in aid of ALS research and in honor of Gordons campaign. All proceeds raised will go to IsrALS.
