Concerned parent says Hello, I have 2.5 year old twin boys. Ive been noticing a lot of their behavior is listed as red flags for autism. I took them to the doctor, primary physician, and we did a regular in office screening which he said they tested borderline and put in a referal for a development specialist for further screening. My question is this and I dont mean to offend at all! Im just uninformed so bear with me. My boys do things like line up toys, spin wheels , stack toys and today stacked all my Tupperware containers. They have explosive temper tantrums, have to have things a very particular way, food cant touch, foreign things like stickers or hair or Lint on their hands or clothes is VERY upsetting, one twin puts his forehead on the carpet and pushes it along the floor. The list goes on. However they dont seem delayed in areas of speech, know all their abcs, can count past 10, they play with each other and with me well. They talk with me sometimes, to best if their ability. They respond to their names being called and make eye contact. They laugh some and act silly. Those things tend to make the primary doctor think that they wont end up in the spectrum. Id just like some opinions. Does this sound like any if your children ? Am I making a mountain out of a mole hill ? Thanks so much in advance. And I hope no one gets offended by anything I said !
