Condemn those who should be condemned My hope has always and will always be to help the Pharmacy Technician vocation the best I can in offering something of substance and value. I am not sure why this particular vocation? Maybe my 15 years in the role of the Pharmacy Technician? Or just maybe because there were many who really did not understand the value of this vocation in the Pharmacy setting. Regardless of why this was/is my calling I am happy to say I have mentored thousands in the passing of the national exam and in CE provided that offered both educational substance and value. So when I seek out those to help, I am in some cases, rebuked as a scam artist or someone who uses our vocation for financial gain. This of course is the farthest from the truth, but there are many who simply do not understand their individual role and are blinded by negativity of some sort. This recently happened to me on another Facebook, of which I was in absolute shock at the profanity involved towards myself and other Technician members of a Facebook site that was meant specifically for Pharmacy Technicians. I could have easily hid from the statements made directly to me, but I have found out through the years this is not the norm and most Pharmacy Technicians are good hard-working individuals who find themselves in a vocation that is not as giving as far as wages and respect earned. It revitalized me in the respect, this individual will see legal action against him, and he will see PTCB involvement and employment involvement as well. Sometimes we need to stand by our values and speak out. I am known to speak out, but not to this extent. As for condemning myself, Tech Lectures or NCPT … one should use their resources to condemn those who are within our vocation and do nothing for it. One should condemn organizations that use our vocation for great financial gain in the name of serving its needs. One should condemn those who employers / Pharmacists who see us at simple workers. In conclusion, like me or not, I am here to stay my friends … Joe Medina, CPhT, BS Pharmacy Founder Tech Lectures / NCPT tlectures
