Confirmed: 4-year-old Malachi Mcbean died after he swallowed a thumbtack in the village of Nurney, Corentyne, Guyana. The toddlers grandmother reported that the mother brought the child to her home on Wednesday with his older siblings. She stated that he was playing with one of his cousins, when he ran outside to his mother, who asked him what was wrong, and the toddler told her that he swallowed a thumbtack, which he swallowed. The child was rushed to hospital, after he had difficulty breathing and he later died. A post mortem report is expected soon.
