Confirmed: The International Monetary Fund (IMF), has voiced concerns over the future of the PetroCaribe fund to Caribbean states amid Venezuelas deteriorating economy, and falling global oil prices. A number of Caribbean nations including Jamaica have signed agreements with Venezuela for oil. According to the IMFs Advisor in the Western Hemisphere Department, Elie Canetti, Venezuela is hugely dependent on its sale of oil, and with the drop of its price from US$115 to US$70 his concerns grow. Canetti was speaking at a media briefing in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
