Confused on what to do before, during and after one of our classes and need a bit of advice? Give this a read so we can help you as much as possible! :) Before coming to a class: Wear trainers or flat non-slip comfortable shoes and clothing that you can move comfortably in. Bare-feet are not recommended due to risk of injury to the feet, and socks/tights etc without footwear are not recommended due to risk of injury to the feet or slipping. IF YOU CHOOSE TO NOT USE FOOTWEAR YOU AGREE TO DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK. Bring refreshments with you such as water or a still drink to prevent dehydration. Carbonated drinks are NOT recommended Bring a small towel or facecloth to remove perspiration from your face if it makes you feel more comfortable Before starting the class: Complete a class registration form Complete a physical readiness questionnaire (PAR-Q) and waiver form Speak to the instructor at the start of your class about any queries, questions or concerns you may have prior to participating Ensure all bags, drinks etc are kept at a safe distance from yourself or other class members to prevent tripping, but close enough for you to access drinks or anything else you may need during the class During the class: Position yourself in clear eye distance to the instructor to enable you to see the steps to follow and any hand signals that are given in addition Participate completely at your own pace working at a level you feel comfortable You are free to take a rest at any point if you feel necessary You are encouraged to take a small drink between each routine to maintain adequate hydration but are also free to break for a drink at any point. However, please do not drink too much at any one point as this could lead to feelings of discomfort It is recommended that you continue to keep moving (eg stepping on the spot) during any parts of the routine you cannot do or during any rest or drink breaks Following the class: Speak to the instructor at the end of the class about any queries, questions or concerns you may have following the class and to let them know how you got on. There is a cool down/stretch section at the end of every session to help your body slowly readjust to the change in its requirements which includes lowering the breathing, pulse rates and body temperature to near-normal, and relaxing the muscles. However, the outside temperature may be still colder than your body temperature so it is recommended you bring a jacket appropriate to the outside temperature & put it on prior to leaving the premises Enjoy your class! :)
