You know youre taking classes that are meaningful when a simple research paper results in you learning about something new and ordering a half a dozen books as a result. I had to find someone who changed the way advertising was done and I found David Ogilvy. I had never heard of him before and in addition to completely changing how advertising was done coming out of the depression era, he also set some standards for fundraising. Coolest thing I liked about this Ogilvy guy is that he was a Jack-of-all-trades, as I am. He was a chef, an Amish farmer and a salesman among other things and decided at the ripe old age of 38 (Im 37) that he wanted to launch into an advertising career. Not only proving that you can start something new at any age, and also that you can be amazing at it and change the world. Im now adding books on relationship-fundraising and advertising to my ever expanding collection.
