Congratulations Dick Daby - St. Lawrence County Firefighter of the Year 2013 Richard started his career in the fire service in 1957 and has served nonstop right to this present moment. In his 56 years of fire service he has always been and continues to be a very instrumental part of our department. He has held many various offices during his service. He served as Secretary, 3rd Asst. Chief, 2nd Asst. Chief, 1st Asst. Chief and Chief from 1974 to 1978… even today he continues to help guide us at his current post as a Director. He is and always has been a very active member participating in everything from running calls, training, work details, and fundraisers. If all that wasn’t enough Dick, who always puts family first, also is active in the Hopkinton Historical Society, the Hopkinton Ft. Jackson Cemetery Association, Hopkinton Food Pantry, Summerfest Committee, Hopkinton Congressional Church and the American Legion... a man that not only knows, but lives the word “community”.
