RCHS senior Nathalie Barsoum has been selected to co-host the closing awards ceremony for the 2014 Student Television Network’s annual convention. This year’s convention will be held in Orlando, Florida - March 25-30. Barsoum submitted an audition video several weeks ago and was selected out of students from across the nation. The closing ceremony co-host position is one of the top honors at the convention. Last year, Schelly Stone from RCHS was selected as an interviewer at the convention for US Education Television. This year’s closing ceremony will be broadcast live on US Education TV via the internet. Barsoum is a third-year member of the RCTV program at RCHS. She has served in many positions and is currently an anchor as well as one of the show’s producers for the bi-weekly broadcast. Student Television Network is an organization for high school broadcasting programs. STN currently has over 2500 members from 150 schools spanning the nation and including Hawaii. The broadcasting program at Royse City High School has participated in the STN convention and competition for the past seven years. They have won numerous awards in various categories. End Message.
