Congratulations Steve Knight First I must say congratulations to “Team Knight” and Steve Knight, because I have been taught that when leaders are appointed this happens for two reasons: the People have spoken and GOD’s divine intervention. Now to educate what happens to Steve Knight’s Senate seat since he prematurely vacated, there are three things that can happen: (1) The Governor could appoint me since I was a Top Two Senate (SD21) Candidate in 2012, (2) The Governor calls for a Special Election; or (3) The Governor could appoint someone other than myself. Now from what I have been told the State is contemplating doing away with Special Elections, because they are too expensive and low voter turnout is predictable. Statistically Speaking A Statistician contacted me about three weeks ago to share with me with surprising news, which was to educate me that he had reviewed Senate District 21, formerly Senate District 17. The Statistician advised me that (1) I have been the Top Vote Getter, within the Democratic Party since 1992 and (2) I am the only woman and minority woman to beat all Democratic men that have run for Senate since 1992. Conclude With the above being said, even though various individuals are now claiming they will run for Senate, again Governor Brown becomes the deciding factor to either appoint me, since I have been the Top Vote Getter in 2012; I have been the Democratic Top Vote Getter since 1992; call for a Special Election or appoint someone else. Again “Team Knight” & Steve Knight, Congrads!
