Congratulations! Students are Advanced Placement Scholars Sixty-eight students and recent graduates of West Genesee High School have been named Advanced Placement Scholars by The College Board in recognition of their exceptional achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement (AP) Examinations. Several levels of achievement are recognized based on the number of year-long courses and examinations (or their equivalent semester-long courses and examinations). Graduates Kenneth Brill, Jr. and Maureen McInerney have been honored with the National AP Scholar Award which is granted to students in the United States who receive an average score of at least 4 on all AP examinations taken, and score of 4 or higher on eight or more of these examinations. Graduates Rebecca Brien, Kenneth Brill, Jr., David Castello, Jenna Cunningham, Jenna Farrell, Samuel Fey, Emily Frazee, Ryan Homeyer, Stephanie Kenific, James Krisher, Maureen McInerney, Emma Ryan, Caroline Spang, and senior Melissa Schiff qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP Examinations taken, and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of these examinations. Twenty-three students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honors Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP Examinations taken, and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of these examinations. Seniors who qualified are Jessie Brill, Kelton Burnside, Jordan Donegan, Rachel Gdula, James Hickey, Amelia Kelly, Christina Lee, Megan Petty, Michael Richards, Nicholas Serrao, Connor Smith, Charlotte Spiddle, and Katherine Zwerger; and graduates Daryl Corcoran, Shawn Davern, Sarah Donovan, Emily Iles, Amanda Jock, Jessica Mason, Ryan Norton, Nicholas Piato, Scott Pietruniak, and Alyssa Purdy also received this recognition. Thirty-one students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by receiving grades of 3 or higher on three or more AP Examinations. The AP Scholars are seniors Sean Beney, Samantha Cherry, Nathan Conroy, Christina Dzyadyk, Michaela Fisher, Megan MacLachlan, Andrew Marotta, Vincent McCauley III, Zefanya Putri, Matthew Romano, Paul Smyth, and Ryan Verzillo; and graduates Gabriella Argiro, Natalie Badeau, Amy Baranello, Emily Barriere, Alexander Cuttler, Michael Dufresne, Steven Ferguson, Allison Gettino, Thomas Haag, Christina Holzhauer, William Johnson, Samantha Lee, Logan McGuire, Allison Miedaner, Ethan Osborne, Sarah Plunkett, Katherine Reed, Tatyana Shakhov, and Alexander Woodrow.
