Congratulations to John Leeds (Gallery On Main Artist Member) as well as the other artistS accepted in the Kentucky Crafted Program! Fourteen Kentucky artists have been accepted into the Kentucky Crafted Program, the Kentucky Arts Councils marketing assistance program that supports professional visual and craft artists by promoting a diverse selection of high-quality art throughout Kentucky. Artists are adjudicated into the program based on artistic excellence and market readiness as determined by an independent panel of art and craft industry professionals. Fifty-two applications were submitted and assessed, with 14 artists accepted, taking the total of Kentucky Crafted Program artists to 340. Were proud to showcase the abundance of talent Kentucky artists have to offer and assist them in marketing their work, said Lori Meadows, arts council executive director. I congratulate the new artists and enjoy seeing their hard work pay off each and every year. The new artists are: Christopher Bonbright, Louisville Paul Brown, Louisville Paul Buhrmester, Bowling Green Lou DeLuca, Berea Gary Graham, Lexington Doug Haley, Berea John Leeds, Richmond Alisha Martin, Georgetown Peggy Modjeski, Louisville Robert Mueller, LaGrange Joanne Price, Bagdad James Roberts, Murray Suzanne Spencer, Louisville Heidi Wineland, Grayson In addition to marketing assistance, the Kentucky Crafted Program provides business training and exhibit opportunities to its members, such as inclusion in its online directory and exhibiting at Kentucky Crafted: The Market, the arts councils award-winning fine art and craft showcase, which takes place annually in March. Kentucky visual and craft artists can apply to be considered for the Kentucky Crafted Program on an annual basis.
