Congratulations to Mitch Eiting, Global Community Relations Manager and blood drive coordinator, and Karen Herndon, Marketing Communications Account Manager, for winning a 2014 Innovation Award! Midmark received an Award of Excellence from American Blood Centers after Mitch’s success in partnering with the Community Blood Center for over 13 years. He saw the opportunity for Midmark to give back to the community by encouraging workers to donate during blood drives hosted by Midmark starting in 2011. Karen, along with assistance from other committee members, created a special media project “Give a Little Bit” that illustrated what happens at a blood drive and why blood donations are so important. Since then, Midmark has hosted 29 corporate blood drives and collected more than 1,189 units. Keep up the good work Mitch and Karen! And thank you to all the Midmark Teammates for becoming blood donors!
