Congratulations to all Mafwes who attained doctorate degrees/phd. We are proud of you but at the same time dissapointed in you because you still lead passive roles in your respective communities. Apart from Dr Lilemba writing a book on Mafwe and Dr Mutumba releasing an album entitled Kanono. What other developmental projects did our doctors initiate? The answer is Zero. About 5 years ago I initiated a setting up of Makanga educational trust fund and I spoke to Dr chata to take the idea forward but until now nothing have materialised. The level of education among the mafwe people is decreasing at an alarming rate. The reduction in level of education is attributed to various factors such as funding, motivation and so on. Was this not supposed to be one of the duties of our doctors, coming together and map up the way forward emulating from their masubia counterparts. A big tribe like mafwe without an educational trust is totally embaarasing. My suggestion to you doctors is to set up mafwe doctors forum where you will discuss on how to improve the deteriorating educational level among the tribesmen. Any mufwe who attain a phd automatically qualify to join the forum. I suggest it should be headed by lilemba.
