Congratulations to the new president of Afghanistan, Ashraf Ghani. The formation of the government is not ideal but it is better than the alternative. War would have not served anyones interests except the few. Shame on the IEC for not announcing the results. Nonetheless, the results are out and Dr. Ghani is the clear winner with 55.27%. Time to celebrate! Few believed we would get here. It goes to prove the power of the people is a force to be reckoned with. To all those who contributed to this campaign, well done. You made the first peaceful transition of power to a capable, smart and hard working president possible. In that spirit I am posting one of the songs fans created. Let the celebrations begin.
