Congratulations to the umma of Muhammad on the sighting of the new moon and the welcoming of the month of Shawwal. Congratulations on the celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1435. Some one thousand four hundred years later and the believers still gather reciting the same invocations taught to us by the master of all mankind. Invocations that know the pathways of the heavens. With all the evil and darkness that has spread it should console our hearts that our community still fasts and prays as the Prophet did. The rites of God are still established. May our fasting, prayer, recitation, charity and good works during the previous months be accepted. May our shortcomings be overlooked. The Lord of Ramadan is the Lord of Shawwal so may our consciousness and vigilance not decrease. It is a celebratory time, spread good cheer, give gifts to your family, friends, and neighbors, and spend time with your loved ones.
