Congressman Kevin Yoder made the following statement following the release of the August unemployment numbers: “This is the lowest our unemployment rate has been since December 2008. But it’s troubling news because our labor participation rate is so low. A lower unemployment rate is actually concerning if it means Americans are unemployed and are not even looking for work,” Congressman Yoder stated. “Congress is coming back after the District Work period, and we need to get to work right away to pass bipartisan legislation that provides job creators and small businesses the proper tools and the right environment for them to thrive and grow.”
