Consecration is the conscious surrender of EVERYTHING YOU ARE AND HAVE TO Yahweh as a living sacrifice to Him. Every saint is called to live a life of total consecration to He who created, redeemed, called and ordained! It is not a special act for a select few super saints, but the ordinary, normal Kingdom life in daily expression! It is the conscious decision, after counting the cost, to lay down everything and every moment of time to Yahweh, our heavenly Father in gratitude for His abounding grace in Yahshua, Jesus which saves us from condemnation. Every Christian is a vessel to be filled by four competing Kings. Self wants to rule self. Satan is looking for vessels to occupy and use to release his evil agenda. Religion looks for Christians to use to foster the dry rituals that feed it. On the other hand, Yahweh is seeking vessels who will willingly yearn to surrender all of their beings to Him to take over and express the nature, presence and power of the risen Yahshua. Consecration was basis of Old Testament! Even in the Old Covenant, this principle has been sacrosanct: that those who are His need to prove it by being totally consecrated to Him! Israel was a type of what Yahweh would require of His saints - a people called and set apart unto Him. Deuteronomy 6: 4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:5 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. Psalm 50:5 5Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice. Consecration is intrinsic part of the New Covenant and Kingdom Life in the earth realm Embedded in the true gospel of the Kingdom of Yahweh is the notion that those who want to be His disciples must first count the cost and make a rational decision accepting His Kinship, even in the face of death and difficulty. Matthew 16:24-26 (KJV) 24Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 25For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. 26For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? It is instructive to note that only those who are consecrated to Yahshua, Jesus, His Kingdom and any project to which He calls them can last the distance. In other words, Consecration is the act of getting lost in Yahshua and remaining therein! For the truly consecrated, there is no going back since life in Him is far better than life lived outside His loop! An interesting incident happened one day when the weight of the demands of discipleship hit many of the followers of Yahshua Jesus and they fell away. The secret is that no one can truly come to Jesus except the Father draws him/her first! No one who is so drawn can last in Yahshua without laying down his/her life, desires, agenda and all material and immaterial assets at His feet as enthroned King! John 6:47-69 (King James Version) 47Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. 48I am that bread of life. 49Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. 50This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. 51I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. 52The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat? 53Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. 54Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. 55For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. 56He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. 57As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. 58This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever. 59These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum. 60Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it? 61When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you? 62What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? 63It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. 64But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him. 65And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father. 66From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. 67Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? 68Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. 69And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God. From the day we receive Yahshua, Jesus and the Kingdom in our hearts till the day of death or His return, there will be many challenges that will war against our ability to cling to Him. There will be storms, difficulties and dire temptations. Only the consecrated will stand strong and overcome. In the letters to the Seven Churches of Asia Minor, Jesus repeatedly asserted that His Crown is for those who overcome. Consecration is based on these premises: 1. Understanding that Yahweh owns us! He owns us because of these three factors: 1.1. He created us. Whoever creates a thing is the owner. In the same way, none of us just happened on earth. We are products of the intentional creative work of Yahweh. He designed and gave us life. To surrender the life He gave us back to Him to keep, direct and empower should be the first order of business for any one with basic wisdom! Genesis 1:26-28 26And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 1.2. He redeemed us with the precious Blood of Yahshua, Jesus. Whoever redeems a person owns that being! The word states that the soul that sins shall die. But Yashua was incarnated to take our place at the Cross. We who are thus redeemed by the life He poured out do not own ourselves any more. To surrender same to Him for the purpose of fulfilling the divine purpose is a basic response expected of us. Whoever is unwilling to consecrate all of life - our very persons, desires and pursuits now and in the future is unfit for the Kingdom! 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 19What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are Gods. Revelation 5:9-12 9And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; 10And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. 1.3. His providential care secures our life from destruction. Many times, saints to forget that we are in the midst of an extremely hostile environment with seen and unseen beings and many adverse arrows shot several times to destroy or maim. It is the hand of Yahweh that preserves us from such, even without our praying! We are not alive because we are better than those who have passed on. We are not healthy because of any special thing we do better than others. We do not have understanding of the Holy Scriptures because of any special wisdom. These are all manifestations of the providential care of a loving Father who sustains and keeps us. Lamentations 3:21-23 21This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. 22It is of the LORDs mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. Furthermore, total consecration to Yahweh is based on these premises: 2. Realisation that living for self to achieve our personal ambition is a cheap life. There is now a crafty twist by Satan to make saints pursue their personal fleshly ambitions under the guise that they are fulfilling purpose. This dangerous secular humanistic theology is responsible for the massive falling away and disdain for the message of the Old Rugged Cross which has occurred in this generation. 3. It is better to live for Yahweh and wholeheartedly understand and pursue His vision for our lives rather than seek after our personal ambition and preferences. What Yahweh has purposed for us can never be grievous. That is why true saints are required to die to self and ambitions before the greater purpose of Yahweh can be revealed. Death to self and consecration to Yahweh is the true spring board of genuine spiritual productivity. It is to such saints that He can entrust both the mysteries of the Kingdom as well as its wealth. John 12:24 24Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. In truth, total consecration renounces lordship of Satan and Self and total surrender of the spirit, soul, body, ambitions, desires and assets of the individual saint to Yahweh as Supreme Owner. When backed by a renewed mind, the consecrated life is a powerful testament of the Grace that flows from Yahshua our King. It is this action which transforms the saint into a living expression of Yahshua within his/her sphere of influence! Consecration is not done religiously by rote. It is a conscious act of surrender of the will to the supremacy of the will of Yahweh and hand over of our beings to Him for His Own purposes. When this is the case, the saint is now set apart for His holy use! Romans 12:1-2 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. When you consecrate all to Yahweh, your worldview will be dramatically changed: - You begin to see things differently, from a Divine, not natural perspective. - Your eyes will be fixed on eternity and all your thoughts, words and actions reflect an eternal, rather than a temporary perspective. - You want to please Yahweh in all things. - You want to know and do the will of Yahweh in all things and do so, just like Yahshua. - You trust Yahweh with all your heart concerning your future and life. - You are not afraid of anything for you know whom you believe, Whose you are and Whom you serve - just like Paul the Apostle.. - The promises of Yahweh get fulfilled in your life without struggle or too much praying. - The focus of your prayers will change from self centred to divine matters and you pray with greater confidence. It is only at this point that you can truly be a Kingdom intercessors able to stand in the gap for others while trusting your Father to provide for you. - You mature faster in King Yahshua, in spite of your age. - You live for the Kingdom even in the face of tests and adversity for you know the end from the beginning. A consecrated life is the basis of living the Kingdom life in this dispensation. The only way we can prove the reality of the Kingdom in the now is in the lifestyle of consecrated saints who live such an other worldly life that speaks loudly of its superiority to the fleshly ambitions of earthly and earth bound people. This is the life of true and faithful witnesses that Yahshua, Jesus is indeed Lord! It is not a slogan but a lifestyle! Are you consecrated to Yahweh? If not, why not do it right now? Why not totally surrender all of your being and assets to Him so that there will be no weight to drag you down again as He takes over completely?
