Considering the Humane Society of the United States position on many things that animals are used for such as showing, working, pulling carriages, as lesson horses, therapy horses, etc, and that some people really do know the difference between animal welfare and animal rights (and there is a huge difference), I could see where this might be considered to be a possible chink in the armor of a Congressman opposing the soring of Tennessee Walking Horses, and his wife supposedly influencing him (I dont think she is at all.....). However, seeing as so many other Congressmen and women are also opposed to this abuse known as soring, the fact that one of the Congressmans wives has been/is linked to the Humane Society shouldnt actually weight heavily regarding making a fair and valid assessment of how abusive soring is because even if she were influencing her husband, which is doubtful, influencing all of he other Congressmen and women who oppose soring is no even possible in our opinion.
