Construction Update: December 22, 2014 VTrans would like to keep you informed of construction activities related to the following projects: · Waterbury Roundabout Project · Bolton – Waterbury (US 2 Reclaim) · Northbound (NB) Off Ramp Signal Project · Waitsfield – Moretown – Duxbury (VT 100 Preventive Maintenance Paving) · I-89 Bridges Project · Stowe VT 108 Bridge Reconstruction The following construction projects are no longer active: - Bolton-Waterbury (US 2 Reclaim) – Project is completed. - Northbound (NB) Off Ramp Signal Project – Project is completed. - Stowe VT 108 Bridge Reconstruction – Construction has ended for 2014 and will resume in the Spring of 2015. - Waitsfield Moretown Duxbury – Construction has ended for 2014 and will resume in Spring of the 2015. With several construction projects underway, motorists are reminded that the roads and highways around the Waterbury area are open and passable. At times, travel may be reduced to one lane in the construction areas with traffic control personnel maintaining traffic flow. In observance of Christmas and the New Year, work on the active projects will occur Monday through Wednesdays only during the weeks of December 22nd and December 29th. Crews will resume their regular work schedule the week of January 5th, 2015. Waterbury Roundabout Project AOT Project No: STP SGNL(18) Project Location: Intersection of Routes 100/2 in Waterbury. Week of December 29, 2014 Crews will be working at the Waterbury sewer pump station, located off of the Roundabout construction site, through the end of December. Lighting is under construction and is expected to be completed by late December. Traffic – No traffic delays are expected this week. I-89 Bridges Project AOT Project No. IM 089-2(43) Project Location: The I-89 Bridges Project is located at Exit 10 on I-89 in Waterbury. Week of December 29, 2014 Crews have wrapped up construction on I-89 near the Exit 10 bridges for 2014. Work on I-89 at the bridges will resume in the spring. Crews will continue to work under the I-89 bridges on Stowe Street throughout the winter. Travel on Stowe Street will have intermittent alternating one-way traffic with flaggers maintaining traffic flow. Traffic: Traffic delays can be expected throughout the week. Please focus on safety when driving through the construction work zone. As of October 1st, it is against the law to use a hand held cell phone while driving.
