Contacting Governor Rauner and IL lawmakers to repeal Common Core All citizens, not just parents, here in Illinois need to be screaming loudly to Governor Bruce Rauner about Common Core and its texts published and written by the Saudis and Libyans. For it was governors who were responsible for bringing CC and Islam into the schools because they signed for the federal money and the programs are under federal jurisdiction. In 2010 Illinois unconditionally and without hesitation signed up to implement Common Core throughout the state. Lawmakers in Illinois must enact laws to repeal Common Core, not just change testing standards. Parents need to know that the Federal Parent Rights Act trumps states. Parents can refuse any test, assignment, book or lecture and the school must comply. Because the schools get paid for testing, school districts try to say that kids MUST take the tests. This includes the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) test, which is the new state assessment and accountability measure incorporating Common Core for Illinois students enrolled in a public school district. PARCC will be administered this spring in Illinois. Presidential aspiration of Jeb Bush and Mike Huckabee damaged as Common Core advocates Jeb Bush and Mike Huckabee have presidential aspirations. Both support Common Core. Bush proudly and openly supports the Common Core national standards, although to his credit, he does support charter schools and voucher programs. But what about Mike Huckabee? In December of last year Huckabee told his Fox News Channel audience that he was no longer a supporter of Common Core standards, but he had a different message to one of the group that created the standards. According to The Washington Post, at a recent meeting of the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO), one of the organizations that created the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), Huckabee urged state education officials to get rid of the “Common Core” name because it had become “toxic.” But as the Post also indicated, Huckabee still intends to support the standards. Huckabee reportedly told CCSSO, “Rebrand it, refocus it, but don’t retreat. Common Core must be eliminated from our schools and the real foundations of our country reestablished. Without question, the new age foundation, The Five Pillars of Islam, must be eliminated. Is this brainwashing taking place yet in your school district?
