Continuation of the great “worldly drama” and one’s role There are artificial or natural lines drawn on the surface of the earth indicating boundaries of the continents, nations, provinces, districts, …, and finally individual houses/rooms. Each one of us associates himself/herself with more than one of these boundaries and feels proud in “owning” something. Each country has “its” sky, air-space, ocean/sea (if bordering that), etc. Similarly an individual has “ownership” of a piece of land,…. Historical records tell us that these “boundaries” have been drawn, erased and redrawn many times and the “ownership” changed. All these processes are “ceaseless” and are only “acts” in the great “worldly drama”. Since the earth is rotating, therefore the sky and air-space that “belonged” to one continent/nation/… at one moment “belong” to another continent/nation/… at the following moment. In case of an individual, the “notion” of “ownership” is associated with the “physical body” whose span is too small and incomparable to that of the earth. Close the fingers and “trap” some air. Life span of the hand is incomparable with that of air. Thus the convictions of “owning” a piece of land and “trapping” the air are “false”. Comparison of non-comparables, effort of measuring the immeasurable and false notion of “ownership” by each living being are three of the basic driving forces for continuation of the “great worldly drama”. So to get out of the “worldly drama”, one must give up this false notion of “ownership” and simply play the “contemporary role” as directed by the “Supreme Self”.
