Continued form 27.6.2013: The next day I saw a young villager standing motionless under one of those shady trees with Gulel, aiming and ready to let go the missile. He was a hunter of small sparrows. He had a fleeting look at me, my uniform did not deter him and he got engaged in his shooting business. To this man also I put inquistive questions. Both were a case of acute povery. He was able to kill 5 to 6 sparrows in his evening hours before sunset . After surgical cleaning he would roast them which made a good meal for himself and his family. The other reasons as we all know , the change of environments. Shifting over to micro families and from large open houses with Havelies and many a ventilators, the birds could not probably have adjusted to the new but closed living in flats and so the option was either to migrate to other places or get extinct. They preferred alas! the latter as better. What you think now! Could not they have lived without us or without our company! BK LUDHIANVI JOKEWALA.
