Continuing Momentum after Major National Endorsements Capping off a week that saw a couple of major national endorsements, Lee Bright won the Sumter Tea Party straw poll unanimously Thursday night. This was the first straw poll in South Carolina concerning the U.S. Senate race, which was conducted after each candidate was invited to speak to the group and answer a variety of questions from members. The results reveal an extraordinarily positive response to Lee Bright, as well as an incredible depth of Tea Party support for his candidacy. “I am personally very pleased with the results of the straw poll,” said Sumter Tea Party Chairman Leigh Evans. “Every single vote tallied in our straw poll was cast for Lee Bright, and I honestly can’t say I’m that surprised. Its clear that our members overwhelmingly believe that Lee is the perfect candidate to replace Lindsey Graham.” Bright, a state Senator from Spartanburg, welcomed the result saying that he was “very proud to get this astonishing result from the great people of the Sumter Tea Party. These are Americans who instantly knew our nation was in danger when the Obama agenda was just beginning to be exposed, and I can’t wait to get to Washington and fight for them.” The result is a big boon for Bright’s Campaign, who in the past few days has picked up endorsements from the National Republican Liberty Caucus and from the National Gun Rights Across America organization.
