Continuing on in the awesome chapter of Matthew 12. Very important here as we learn about the enemy satan, having the Gospel Armor and casting out or getting rid of evil spirits/messengers. Thank you for taking a look † (Matthew 12:22-30) Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw. So up to this point we have Christ and the Disciples picking crops to eat. The Sabbath day healing and Christ declaring Himself Lord of he Sabbath. He defines what it means. With the previous interactions with the pharisees up to this point. Namely Matthew chapter 9. (You can also directly cross reference Mark 3:20-29 for the same interaction here. So we will use both to get the full picture. Everyone was following Christ when you look there. Of course, after years and years of being beaten down by the oppressive pharisees with then Romans overseeing Christ brought excitement and hope. So much so Christ family and friends very concerned about His protection here). (Mark 3:21) And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself. (Okay, that being said we have an amazing healing here. Today many of would have given up on this one possessed. I mean trying to find answers to his condition. But one must be careful and know what they are doing when it comes to diagnosing if they are dealing with possessed. This is extremely rare to be both anyhow). Back to Matthew 12:23, 23And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David? (That is an admittance of Christ being the Messiah. The anointed one, YHVHs savior). 24But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils. Well of course they did. They can feel their power slipping as Christ continues to put them to shame, and more here. Beelzebub = satan the prince of demons, I prefer to use evil spirits though. That is what they are. You have the Holy Spirit, and evil spirit(s). 25And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: (The nonsense mindless self-refuting lies of a pharisee. This is huge here. Because if this is not the power of the LORD then what else could it be? Christ is getting to that common sense question(s) and conclusion here as we will see). 26And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand? The simplest of concepts here. satan with the evil spirits their goal is to inhabit people and take over. This is like the Army fighting the Marines during WWII while being under attack. Yes, the pharisees are just that dumb. (from the English). 27And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges. (You and your offspring are they doing it by the power of the LORD? The pharisees dont even know. But they sure want to run their mouths. The point here is the evil spirit is gone from the person here. They are saying they are casting out evil spirits (the children). Therefore, the children would find them guilty for the same they accuse of Christ. Par for the course in mans double standards of judging before salvation. Their own standards, not the Lords). 28But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you. (No gray area here. You can be sure of it, and we need to be very sure of it). 29Or else how can one enter into a strong mans house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house. The goods here are the Gospel Armor. Strong man = Strong in mind. Begins with the shield and faith, the helmet (protecting the mind) of salvation. Gospel shoes walking all over and stomping all over them knowing the Lord is in control. Gird with truth = stand up. No fear laying in the dust or sitting down where one can be bound. Being bound chained physically speaking. So it is mentally here. That is to say satan puts you in a place you cannot get out of. Breastplate of righteousness, stick your chest out to him. Confidence. And doing right is confidence. Righteousness = the condition acceptable to the Lord through Christ, then doing right. The Sword of the Spirit = exposes satan, evil spirits, wickedness, and cuts to pieces. In the comment box below. I will put the Gospel Armor video, and study on anointing. Remember up above the people around seen Christ exactly that, the Anointed one. 30He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad. (Logically so. No gray areas, and no gray area for the grey matter for satan to be stronger, stronger in mind. He certainly cannot be stronger in will. For he is defeated foe. Use the power. The place you want to be is its really not your battle. It belong to the Lord, He won it at the cross). Amen †
