Continuing our look at the arrival of the Gospel in New Zealand, we found a great article on some of the early missionaries and mission stations in the Waikato (link to PDF below). These sites are well worth a visit – I recently visited Whakatumutumu, just south of 8-mile junction on SH1 near Te Kuiti, to see where Frederick and Susan Miller, in their early twenties, set up a mission station and brought the Good News to this area in the 1840s. Its truly humbling to stand where they stood, and know that the ripples of their sacrifice continue in this land, to this day. - Stephen methodist.org.nz/files/docs/wesley%20historical/waikato%20wesleyan%20missions.pdf
